Cheapest neighborhoods in Santa Ana?

Hey folks, The median home value here is around $657,800, which is pretty steep. With a population of 312K, Santa Ana is a mid-size city. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $88,354, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Santa Ana? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Old Town for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is tough

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.
