Best apartments in Santa Barbara under ?

Hi all, Been living here since 2017. Homes are going for about $1,466,400 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 88,024 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Worth the trade-offs? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Moved here from Portland about 8 years ago. it's been a really good experience overall. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to San Francisco it's improving.
