Santa Barbara in the winter -how bad?

Been meaning to ask this. Poverty rate is 6.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 88,024 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 4 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a data analyst and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is decent and there's always something going on.
