Couple moving to Santa Clara from out of state

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 31-year-old nurse and Homes are going for about $1,527,900 on average. Poverty rate is 4.4%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $1,527,900, which is pretty steep. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Appreciate any input. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Bought a house here in 2015 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in South for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is solid

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..
