Is Santa Clara a good place to live?

So, Born and raised here. Median household income is $173,670, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $2,985/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I wrong here?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 2 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Downtown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is tough

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The job market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for weather and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The walkability is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in construction here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is average. Hope this helps!.
