Pros and cons of Santa Clara after 15 years

Hi all, Rent is about $2,985/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $173,670 in Santa Clara. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. Thanks for reading.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- The cultural scene scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.
