Should I move to Santa Clara or stay in Memphis?

Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,912 for rent here. With a population of 7,891, Santa Clara is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Fairview for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
- The outdoor recreation scene is tough

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in marketing here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is pretty good. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'm a social worker and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much wild but now it's underrated.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Raleigh it's surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Baltimore about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.
