OK so I've been here for 16 years and Crime rate is something to consider — Santa Clarita sits at 127.0 per 100K. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. It's a a mid-size city city with about 229K people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Santa Clarita? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
