We have two kids and Median household income is $101,875, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $247,400, which is actually reasonable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Eastside for 14 years. Moved from Baltimore for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Road conditions need improvement. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in East for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
- The community vibe scene is average
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
