Just moved to Santa Fe from Boston — first impressions
We made the move 2 ago and here are my first impressions:
There are tons of parks and outdoor spaces. Rent runs about $1,380/month for a typical apartment. Weather is moderate — about 52F average.
Biggest surprise: The food scene is way better than expected
Biggest disappointment: Nightlife is limited
Overall, it works for our family.

Don't sleep on Eastside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

If you can afford it, Southside is the best place to live. Period.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

I work in manufacturing and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.

Rent tip: look for places in January-February. Prices drop and there's more availability.

The job market has been improving lately. Several logistics companies moved in recently.
