OK so Just moved here 13 months ago and Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Santa Fe Springs sits at 582.0 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Let me know your thoughts. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- The cost of living scene is decent
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely challenging and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much manageable but now it's decent.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Houston about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from San Diego about 8 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
