Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 20s, and Poverty rate is 11.2%, which is around average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
