Planning a move to Santa Maria -neighborhoods?

Rent is about $1,842/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $478,200, which is pretty steep. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The public transit is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
