Working remotely from Santa Maria — my experience

I've been working remotely from Santa Maria for 13 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: a bit high but manageable
Internet: Decent, getting better with new providers
Coworking spaces: Growing number of options

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Santa Maria is underrated for remote workers.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Lakewood. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

I work in logistics and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 6 months.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.
