Housing market in Santa Monica right now

Hey folks, I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Santa Monica sits at 724.7 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
