Santa Rosa is underrated, change my mind

First post here. The unemployment rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $2,084/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider — Santa Rosa sits at 481.8 per 100K. Household incomes average around $97,410 in Santa Rosa. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
