Is public transit usable in Santee?

Hello, The median home value here is around $653,400, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $105,613 in Santee. With a population of 59,485, Santee is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Downtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The dating scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Eastside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
