Job market in Saranac Lake for tech?

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 6 months ago and Rent is about $826/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $188,900 on average. Average temperature is around 40--F, so bundle up in winter. Household incomes average around $60,494 in Saranac Lake. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 54, moved here 12 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Sunset and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Winters are long and cold
3. The public transit situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $90K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor recreation is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The nightlife is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
