Life in Sarasota as a young professional

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2006. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. Homes are going for about $409,700 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? Appreciate any input. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Tampa about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The community vibe is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
