First post here. We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 30,335 people. Poverty rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much stable but now it's pretty good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Denver about 8 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 2 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
