Is Saratoga Springs worth moving to in 2026?

Longtime lurker here, Crime rate is something to consider -Saratoga Springs sits at 157.5 per 100K. The median home value here is around $567,200, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $2,206 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 44,070 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
