Sartell job market vs Salt Lake City

I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,197/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 19,620 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 50, moved here 8 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Downtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The safety situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
