Random thought, I'm single, late 40s, and Homes are going for about $589,500 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Tampa about 1 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is average.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is underrated in most areas.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in North area are average. Kids love it here.
