Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2007. Crime rate is something to consider -Saugus sits at 253.7 per 100K. Household incomes average around $100,819 in Saugus. Homes are going for about $589,500 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
