Hey everyone, With a population of 28,599, Saugus is a smaller city. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Dallas about 15 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.

I'm a lawyer and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
