Best areas to explore in Savannah?

First post here. You can expect to pay around $1,302 for rent here. Poverty rate is 13.2%, which is around average. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I've lived in West for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The job market scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a chef and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
