So, We have two kids and Rent is about $1,302/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $56,782 in Savannah. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Any help is appreciated. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.
No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 14 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
