Couple moving to Savannah from out of state

Anyone else feel this way? Crime rate is something to consider — Savannah sits at 1,735.5 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Thanks in advance! The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The pet-friendliness scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..
