Worst things about Savannah nobody talks about

Hi all, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider — Savannah sits at 1,735.5 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cheers. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 6 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2015 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The cost of living is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
