Hey everyone, We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,641/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
- The school system scene is solid
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much reasonable but now it's challenging.

- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Came here for retirement and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The cost of living is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
