Is Sayreville worth it salary-wise?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and It's a a smaller city city with about 45,237 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Nashville about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is improving.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
