Hey everyone, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $98,629 in Sayreville. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Charlotte about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
