Is Sayville still affordable?

So, You can expect to pay around $2,339 for rent here. Median household income is $145,278, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $615,700 on average. Household incomes average around $145,278 in Sayville. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Diverse community
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Hot summers
- Limited nightlife
Has anyone dealt with this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
