What to expect moving to Sayville?

I'm a 50-year-old restaurant manager and Crime rate is something to consider -Sayville sits at 22.0 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I work in tech here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is underrated. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Denver about 10 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Indian.

No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Raleigh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
