Things that make Scaggsville unique

Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $183,125, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a small town city with about 10,441 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience? TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Uptown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The job market scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

I'm a social worker and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 12 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
