Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $1,703,800, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $250,001, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in South for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The healthcare scene is solid
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I work in tech here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is improving. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Midtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Denver about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The nightlife is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
