Schaumburg quality of life -am I missing something?

I'm a 47-year-old marketing manager and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely excellent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Maple Ridge area are average. Kids love it here.
