Random thought, Born and raised here. It's a a smaller city city with about 76,780 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Worth the trade-offs? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The dating scene is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.
