Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 5 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 40, moved here 8 years ago from Boston. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
