Been meaning to ask this. I relocated for work and It's a a smaller city city with about 29,627 people. Homes are going for about $294,600 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this?

I've lived in Oak Park for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Diverse dining options
- The school system scene is improving
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
