I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a smaller city city with about 29,627 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Baltimore about 15 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Meadowbrook for 2 years. Moved from Denver for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is decent - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Dating scene is rough. Bugs and humidity in summer. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Atlanta it's decent.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Fairview area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
