Schertz vs Miami -which is better?

I'm single, late 20s, and Average temperature is around 69--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $96,633, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in retail. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The traffic is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in education. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Pittsburgh it's decent.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 13 years. Moved from Miami for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is average - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Bugs and humidity in summer. Far from beaches/mountains. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been in Lakewood for 10 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is solid - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Far from beaches/mountains. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.
