Best and worst neighborhoods in Schlusser

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $973/month for a decent place. With a population of 5,926, Schlusser is a small town. Poverty rate is 6.3%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Close to nature
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Cold winters
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 1 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.
