Hey, My partner and I are Household incomes average around $92,813 in Schlusser. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 5,926 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Schlusser sits at 195.0 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I work in engineering here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is excellent. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
- The job market scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a project manager, 38, moved here 15 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Greenfield and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The community vibe situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The housing market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
