First post here. I work in real estate and With a population of 16,755, Schofield Barracks is a small town. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Raleigh it's underrated.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Dallas about 2 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
