Worst things about Scotchtown nobody talks about

Hey folks, Been living here since 2012. Median household income is $92,889, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 9.0%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do?

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Lakewood area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The dating scene scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.
