Random thought, Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The school system is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Asian.
