Scranton is underrated, change my mind

Random thought, With a population of 76,074, Scranton is a smaller city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 8 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..
