Raising a family in Seabrook -thoughts?

Homes are going for about $377,900 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Seabrook sits at 642.7 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. The median home value here is around $377,900, which seems about average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The school system is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Seattle it's surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 3 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
