Anyone else love living in Seabrook?

OK so I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. With a population of 13,617, Seabrook is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 24, moved here 11 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Lakewood and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The nightlife situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Denver about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely hit or miss and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Springfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.
